Dr Dischord

In our class we have been writing a description of Dr Dischord in his wagon and our teacher has been reading us a book called The Phantom Tollbooth.

Dr Dischord

Milo and Tock and the Humbug slowed down the car and there was an old wagon.  Milo and Tock and the Humbug walked up to the old wagon and Milo opened the door. They saw a man and he was making potions and he said my name is Dr Dischord.   Milo said their names are Tock and the Humbug.
Dr Dischord put the potions in bottles and there were different sizes and there were lots of colours like ruby and violet and amber, and then he put them on the shelf.

In class we have been learning to write about frogs .

Life Cycle of Frogs

Today I’m going to be talking to you about the Life cycle of  frogs. The  frog  colours are light brown with patches of green on top of the light brown.

The Eggs

The frogs lay the eggs every day and they lay  lots of eggs at different times in the day. The eggs look  slimy and wet. When the frogs have the eggs they are all in a bunch in the pond . The frog eggs will hatch in 25 day spending on the species and water temperature. They will hatch faster if the water is warmer.

Tadpoles

Two or three weeks after the tadpoles are hatched they will eat the jelly that the egg had on it. If you look close to the tadpoles and really concentrate you can see some feathery like gills. By the summer each tadpole has grown first back legs and then front legs, which will be needed for hopping on the ground.   

Frogs

Most of the time frogs live on  land, they go back to water on hot days to hibernate in the  mud during winter and to breed when they are about five years old.

Cricket

At Awahono School a cricket man came to or School and shod room 5 howto do cricket.

What are Friends?

In class we have been writing about what are friends 

Self-Portraits

In room 5 we have been doing drawings of ourselves. We used oil pastels.  and them we used the rest of the paper for a background. Something I found  hard is I  got stuck on the eyebrows because one is straight and the other one isn't.

                                    

What are the Olympic Games?

In room 5 we have been writing  an explanation about What are the Olympics?

What are the Olympic Games?  

Every 4 years different countries enter the Olympics. There are lots of athletes from many countries that go to do the Olympics from  all  over the world.

Medals

At the Olympic Games there are lots of medals  you can win like gold,  silver and bronze.  If you are entered in the Olympics you can win and get medals.

Athletes

Athletes are people that compete in the Olympic Games.  They compete every four years in really stressful Olympic games like running, jumping and lots more games. The Athletes have to wear a uniform for every game at the Olympics.

Sports

At the Olympics there are sports  like  running and  jumping and  there are lots more  sports  to.     

   Teams      

When you start doing the Olympics you are put into a team to do sports. You get to go into a team. There are lots of people in each team  at the Olympics.

Hannah

Awahono school mini olympics

On Friday 19th of August Awahono School had a Mini Olympics. There were lots of games that Room 6 set up for the  Olympics for us and there were lots of games we were allowed to play.  If  you won a competition, you were given a gold for first place, a silver for second place and bronze medals for third place, it was fun!

Typing Tutor

I have been  learning to do Typing Tutor and I have been learning to do it fast. 

I have been learning to keep my fingers on the home keys. 

I am having trouble keeping my fingers on the home keys.
